Design/Consulting Positions Available 4/1/07

College Intern:
Pay Scale: $10/hour plus travel allowance

Requirements: Must be recent graduate or at least a Junior in qualified Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Turfgrass or related field. This position is available only in Phoenix, Arizona. AutoCAD skills required. Travel opportunities to job sites will be offered but not required. Job Description: Flexible schedule, flexible hours. Intern will help with drafting and other administrative duties for busy design/construction practice. This is an excellent way to learn all about large-scale irrigation and water works projects in the context of golf and large landscape projects.

Construction Positions Available 3/1/07

Irrigation Site Supervisor
Pay Scale: $40k/year start plus living expense, vehicle, laptop computer

Requirements: 5 years minimum golf irrigation installation experience. Bi-lingual required. Must be physically fit and able to tolerate extreme heat conditions. Neat appearance also required. Mexican nationals, Mexican-Americans or irrigation technicians with desire to travel are strongly desired. Job Description: Will be responsible for daily supervision, equipment management, running mainline, installing valves, wiring, controllers, etc. Must be able to work with owner's reps, golf architects and contractors. Travel within U.S. and possibly Mexico or other foreign countries probable. Must be computer literate.

Irrigation Wire Installer
Pay Scale: $30k start plus $500/mo. living expense

Requirements: 3 years minimum golf irrigation installation experience. Must have at least three projects experience installing power, communication and sprinkler wires. Bi-lingual or strong Spanish skills required. Must be physically fit. Mexican nationals or Mexican-Americans strongly desired. Job Description: Will be responsible for supervising installation of all irrigation wiring. Responsibilities also include installing/wiring controllers, testing, pipe fitting, valves and all other irrigation installation, but your main focus will be to make sure the wiring is right!

Irrigation Installation Foreman
Pay Scale: $30k start plus $500/mo. living expense

Requirements: 3 years minimum golf irrigation installation experience. Backhoe/Trencher experience required. Bi-lingual or strong Spanish skills required. Must be physically fit. Mexican nationals or Mexican-Americans strongly desired. Job Description: Will be the "second in command" to site supervisor, and will lead laborers in all phases of construction. Installation of wire, pipe, sprinklers, controllers, main line, valves, etc. Will be responsible for finishing jobs, punch list repairs, layout, testing and adjustments. May lead to Irrigation Supervisor position.

Benefits
Insurance: after 6 months, health insurance will be offered with a co-pay.
Vacation: after 1 year, one week paid vacation. After three years, two weeks paid vacation.
Profit sharing: begins after two years.

Work Environment
Location: Project work is in the field at golf course sites throughout the U.S. and Latin America. Employees that travel are given extra payments. Local Phoenix area employees do not receive extra living expense. Job sites can be hot, dusty and challenging, so applicants need good physical fitness.
Hours: Off-season 40 hours per week. Most of year a 48 hour work week, up to 60 hours may be required in a crunch.

Requirements
Basic:
Must understand and be able to converse in Spanish language. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be a legal alien with green card or U.S. citizen. All new employees must fill out forms and background check including immigration status will be conducted.
Computer Literacy: All employees must be computer literate. GEA will supply you with a computer and free e-mail for daily communications on all projects. 
Physical Requirements: Employees must be physically fit and able to work in extreme heat. Field work usually involves many miles of walking each day.
Social Events: Our attendance at various trade shows, conventions, trips and events is part of the job. Employees are expected to participate.
