What We Do: GEA is the only true
Design-Build golf course irrigation company in the United States. We operate
throughout the U.S., Mexico and Overseas. From initial budgets to blueprints and
construction, we save time, money and water.
- Design & Consulting - we produce plans and specs
for distribution to variety of contractors, monitor project through
construction, grassing and start-up.
- Design/Build - we produce plans, specs and also
do the complete installation. We provide materials, machinery, supervision and
labor.
- In-House with Your Crew - we act as construction
manager with our skilled daily supervision, your labor and local resources
throughout the project.

Golf
Engineering Associates was founded in 1995 by Gary S. Kaye. Pictured with
Jack Nicklaus on site at Laguna Del Mar, Gary is an industry veteran who has
been involved with approximately 150 golf course projects over the last 20
years. He is a 1989 graduate of Cornell
University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, and holds a
MBA from Arizona State University, 2003. Gary
Kaye is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and
the Cactus & Pine chapter of
Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. |

Kevin Plageman:
Field Supervisor, is a former golf construction foreman who focuses on field
operations such as GPS mapping, drafting as-builts and field staking. Kevin
works all over the U.S. and Mexico. He has advanced computer skills and has
developed highly efficient mapping techniques for both Rain Bird and Toro
T-Map. Kevin is a highly skilled CAD draftsman capable of working with all
levels of project architects and engineers. Experience: 12 years golf course
design and construction, including hands-on experience in all phases of golf
course development. In college worked 2 years on golf course maintenance
crew. Education: BS in Environmental Design, University of Minnesota, 2000. |

Craig
F. Zellers: Irrigation Computer Specialist, is a Certified Golf Irrigation
Auditor and licensed California
landscape contractor with expert knowledge of irrigation computer programming,
hydraulic tree building, irrigation scheduling, pump station controls and
weather stations. Craig was a Certified Golf Course Superintendent from 1987
through 1995 who understands the needs of superintendents, club managers and
maintenance personnel. Craig was golf construction superintendent at Real del
Mar Golf Club, Baja, Mexico, where he coordinated all aspects of course
construction. From 1995 through 2005 he was an Irrigation Sales and Technical
Service representative with Turf Star Toro distributorship in San Diego.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Management, San Diego State
University, 1987. |
GEA has completed more than 100 golf projects throughout the U.S., Mexico
and China. Our reputation is built on 15 years of hands-on practical
irrigation experience for clubs of all levels - private clubs, resorts, public
and daily fee facilities all have our mark.
